Caravel Minerals is an ASX-listed copper exploration and development company focused on a new porphyry copper district discovered in a previously unexplored part of Western Australia’s Central Wheatbelt. The Caravel Copper Project is located 150 km to the north-east of Perth.
orelogy will undertake the mining component of the Pre-feasibility Study including:
– Project Development Strategy
– Pit Design and Reserves
– Mine Infrastructure Design
– LOM Production Schedule
– Mining Cost Estimate
– Reporting Components
– Study Management and Peer Review
The ultimate goal of the PFS will be to generate a robust project mining strategy that will:
1. Assess and select the mining and development strategy option that maximises the value of the project; while also
2. Provide the best opportunity to develop the project with the greatest likelihood of success.
From the scope of works provided, orelogy understands that:
– Ore feed will initially commence at 16 Mtpa and ramping up to 30 Mtpa from Year 6.
– Copper production is ~45 ktpa ramping up to ~65 ktpa from Year 6 as well.
The mine operating strategy is yet to be determined with both owner operator and mine contractor scenarios to be evaluated. Mining services, operational management oversight and strategic planning will be provided by CML.
