Celebrating Female Leadership in Mining

Orelogy are fortunate to collaborate with remarkable expert female engineers and leaders. We recently had the pleasure of inviting Alex Atkins, who is redefining leadership in underground metalliferous mining and throughout the resources sector, to share the experiences and insights gained throughout her career journey in this industry.

She was recognised as one of the 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining (WIMUK) in 2018 and was honoured with induction into the Western Australian Women’s Hall of Fame in 2019 for her significant contributions to diversity and innovation in the industry. Throughout her journey as a mother, she maintained her mining career, shattering barriers and illuminating pathways for future mining moms who follow in her footsteps.

Orelogy would like to express its gratitude to Alex for taking the time from her busy schedule to share her inspiring story with us and wish her well continuing her journey centred on lifting the voices of frontline professionals and STEM experts into leadership through the completion of her Ph.D. (PhD Survey Link).

To women in mining – engineers, operators, geos, regulators, innovators, researchers, directors, and the next generation coming up behind us—thank you. Your courage, your capability, and your commitment inspire real change.
