With a background spanning production, planning, technical performance and strategic studies across four continents, he brings a rare blend of deep technical expertise and practical, hands‑on insight. Hugh’s career includes senior roles in both contracting and owner‑operator environments, where he has led multidisciplinary engineering teams, managed major underground mining contracts exceeding $140M annually, and driven improvements in safety, systems, and operational performance.
Hugh specialises in mine planning and design, project and contract management, ventilation, drill and blast, and the integration of technology to optimise outcomes. Holding dual degrees in Mining Engineering (Hons) and Psychology, along with a WA First Class Mine Manager and Underground Supervisor Certificates of Competency, he is known for combining analytical rigor with strong leadership and a collaborative approach.
